Fire & acoustic intumescent sealant for linear joints
Acoustic Intumescent Sealant is a high specification, one part water based acrylic sealant. Acoustic Intumescent Sealant is designed for use in the installation of ROCKWOOL Ablative Coated Batt, sealing linear joints and some individual service penetrations passing through various substrates.
Fire and smoke can penetrate even the smallest of gaps within a building. Small gaps and imperfections of fit can leave a property vulnerable to the risk of fire and smoke spread. As part of ROCKWOOL’s FIREPRO range of fire protection products, the Acoustic Intumescent Sealant has been designed to seal joints and service gaps in compartment walls and penetration seals, ensuring your property is adequately protected.
APPLICATIONS Acoustic Intumescent Sealant is comprehensively tested for a wide range of applications which include: • Sealing service penetrations • Linear joint seals • Installation of Ablative Coated Batt This product should NOT be allowed to come into direct contact with cPVC type piping
Guidelines advise that the spread of fire inside a building can be minimised when provisions are made for elements of the structure to have a specified period of fire resistance. The ROCKWOOL FIREPRO® Acoustic Intumescent Sealant is a fire stopping resource for thin linear joints and sealing penetrations where they pass through fire rated divisions.
As part of the ROCKWOOL FIREPRO® system, it efficiently reinstates the fire performance of compartment walls, floors where apertures for formed to allow the passage of services. In addition to providing an effective fire and smoke sealant solution, the ROCKWOOL Acoustic Intumescent Sealant provides excellent acoustic performance by sealing linear gaps.
Handily available in 310ml cartridges, 600ml sausages and 5L tubs, it offers up to 4 hours fire protection in joints up to 50mm in walls & floors, when installed in accordance with the relevant data sheet and supporting detail.
